The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has announced that 13 ships carrying various petroleum products are expected to berth at the nation’s ports in the coming days.
According to the NPA’s daily shipping position released on Tuesday, the vessels are laden with petrol, diesel, aviation fuel, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), among other essential cargoes.
The authority noted that the arrivals are part of ongoing efforts to ensure steady supply and distribution of petroleum products across the country amid recent concerns about availability in some regions.
“The NPA continues to coordinate closely with relevant agencies and terminal operators to facilitate smooth berthing and discharge operations,” the statement read.
In addition to the incoming tankers, the NPA disclosed that several other vessels are currently at anchorage, waiting to offload bulk cargoes, food items, and general goods.
The update comes as part of the agency’s commitment to maintaining transparency in port operations and supporting government efforts to stabilize the energy and supply chain sectors.
Industry experts have welcomed the development, saying the timely arrival of the ships could help ease pressure on fuel distribution and reduce the risk of scarcity in major cities.
