In a revealing moment featured in the trailer for the upcoming Degrassi documentary, Degrassi: Whatever It Takes, rapper Drake reflects on his teenage years by admitting:
“I didn’t have a great time in high school. I just didn’t really fit in.”
However, shortly after that low point, life took a major turn. He recalls how his Degrassi audition changed everything:
“Then one day, my mom called me and told me, ‘You got the role.’ And I just grabbed my bag and left. And man, what a wild journey that started.”
Despite the challenges of fitting into high school life, the chance to join Degrassi: The Next Generation marked the beginning of Drake’s meteoric rise—from a self-described outsider to global music icon.
