As part of efforts to strengthen internal accountability and uphold professional standards, the Nigeria Police Force has summoned 151 senior officers to appear before the Force Disciplinary Committee (FDC) over various pending disciplinary issues.
The exercise, which began on July 14 and runs through July 25, 2025, is being held at the Force Headquarters in Abuja. According to Force Public Relations Officer, Mr. Muyiwa Adejobi, the FDC is a key internal mechanism responsible for handling cases involving alleged misconduct, breaches of professional conduct, and ethical violations by officers of the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police and above.
These officers, drawn from different commands and formations nationwide, will undergo a rigorous and transparent review process in accordance with established police regulations. Final decisions will be recommended to the Police Service Commission (PSC) for appropriate action.
Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, reiterated his administration’s zero-tolerance stance on indiscipline and unethical behavior. He emphasized the Force’s commitment to promoting integrity, professionalism, and public trust through internal accountability and adherence to the rule of law.
