The Lagos State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Adedotun Keshinro, has been conferred with the fellowship of the Nigerian Army Resource Centre in Abuja, in a recognition that the Lagos command described as a boost to the service’s professional standing within Nigeria’s wider security architecture. The conferment took place on Thursday during an investiture ceremony at the centre, where Keshinro was honoured alongside two generals, a colonel and a lecturer.
In a statement issued by the Lagos State Command’s Public Relations Officer, SC Oluwaseun Abolurin, the award was linked to the vision of NSCDC Commandant-General Ahmed Audi to build a corps of officers capable of representing the service effectively at both national and international levels. The command said the fellowship reflects growing recognition of the role civil defence officers play in the country’s broader security framework.
Keshinro expressed gratitude for what he described as an opportunity to serve, thanking the NSCDC leadership for the confidence reposed in him and acknowledging the support of his management team and officers in Lagos. According to the statement, he said the honour would further strengthen his commitment to duty, especially in the protection of critical infrastructure and the fight against serious crimes in the state.
The Nigerian Army Resource Centre describes itself as a research and policy institution focused on defence, security and sustainable development. Against that backdrop, the fellowship is likely to be viewed not only as a personal honour for Keshinro, but also as a symbol of increasing collaboration and professional exchange among Nigeria’s security institutions.
