The Deeper Life Bible Church has strongly denied reports alleging that its General Superintendent, Pastor William Kumuyi, made anti-United States comments or denied any acts of genocide.
In an official statement released on Sunday, the church described the circulating claims as “false, malicious, and fabricated”, insisting that Pastor Kumuyi has never made such remarks in any sermon, interview, or public statement.
According to the church’s spokesperson, the misleading reports were the work of “individuals bent on tarnishing the image of a respected man of God and spreading disinformation.” The statement emphasized that Deeper Life’s teachings promote peace, love, and respect for all nations and peoples.
“Pastor Kumuyi has always been an advocate of truth and godliness,” the statement read. “He has never issued any comment that could be interpreted as being anti-American or supportive of genocide denial. Such claims are baseless and should be disregarded.”
The church also urged the public and media outlets to verify information before sharing, stressing the importance of responsible journalism in the digital age.
Supporters of Pastor Kumuyi have since taken to social media to defend him, calling the allegations a “targeted smear campaign” against his ministry.
With this clarification, the Deeper Life Bible Church reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and continued focus on spreading the gospel, urging members to remain calm and prayerful amid the controversy.
